The Giovinos

Children making flower bouquets at home during family photo session

Mother’s Day Session | Family Photographer in Doylestown, PA & Cape Cod, MA

The Giovino family were the winners of this year’s Mother’s Day session, a joyful, light-filled afternoon with four kids, a couple of pups, and chickens wandering through like part of the crew. Sessions like this always remind me how much magic lives in everyday family life, especially at home.

I brought along loose flowers, twine, and paper for a simple activity, and the girls immediately decided to make hand-tied bouquets for their grandmother, who was coming to visit. Capturing them carefully choose stems and work together gave the gallery such a unique resonance.

The whole session carried an easy, playful energy, full of “little cowgirl” spirit. Running feet, animals nearby, siblings drifting in and out of each other’s worlds. Nothing posed, nothing forced. Just childhood unfolding as it does.

What I love most about photographing families — whether during backyard sessions in Doylestown, PA or seasonal shoots on Cape Cod, MA — is capturing the interiority of kids: the quiet confidence, the private sibling dynamics, the tenderness that shows up when no one is performing.

These photographs hold more than a moment. They reflect what it feels like to grow up in this family — rooted, imaginative, and deeply known. And that’s always the goal: to document connection, atmosphere, and the inner world of a family just as much as how it looks.
